Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

As you may know, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is authorized for students who are 12 years old, and older.
Your student’s school is currently accepting students’ proof of vaccination for COVID-19. This information is being collected on a voluntary basis and will be secured in the Districts’ SIS system as a health record.

As many of you may already know, if your student is identified as being in close proximity to a student, teacher, or staff member who has tested positive, the School District will issue a Stay-Home Directive for your student while the Department of Health is conducting contact tracing. However, if your student is fully vaccinated (two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series) and exhibiting no symptoms of COVID-19, your student will be able to remain in school IF the School District has verifiable documentation of your students’ vaccination status in its records. Without documented proof of a student being fully vaccinated, the School District will proceed with caution and treat those students as if unvaccinated.

If you wish to avoid receiving a Stay-Home Directive for your healthy child as a result of exposure to COVID-19, please provide a copy of your student’s COVID-19 vaccination card to your school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school.
