A message from the School District of Palm Beach County

Hello Staff, Parents, and Guardians,

The School District is pleased to announce an expanded collaboration with the Health Care District of Palm Beach County that will increase accessibility and access to COVID-19 testing and monoclonal antibody treatment for District employees, students, and families in the Glades.

The Health Care District, in partnership with Palm Beach County, is offering free and voluntary drive-thru PCR and rapid-antigen testing at Lakeside Medical Center, located at 39200 Hooker Highway in Belle Glade. Testing is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except major holidays.

Additionally, the Health Care District will have monoclonal antibody treatments available at the same location for individuals 12 years of age and older who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and are at high risk for severe illness and hospitalization. The monoclonal antibody treatments are available at no cost to eligible individuals.

The antibodies help the immune system recognize and respond effectively to the virus. According to the treatment guidelines, treatment should be administered as soon as possible after diagnosis.

If you live east of the Glades, the District is collaborating with the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County to offer free, COVID-19, BinaxNOW rapid antigen testing for all District students and staff at the Chuck Shaw Technical Education Center located at 4260 Westgate Avenue in West Palm Beach. Tests are offered daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The District is also making free, voluntary vaccinations accessible and convenient to staff, students, and families.

The Health Care District is administering free, Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations to students, 12 and older, staff, and family members. Students ages 12 to 17 must have a parent or guardian present to receive the vaccine. Students over the age of 18 do not need to be accompanied by a parent.

The Health Care District’s Mobile Clinic is visiting all District-operated high schools throughout September and will return to these locations three weeks later to administer the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

For the schedule of locations and times, information on the vaccine and to download the Health Care District’s consent forms, visit the School District’s Mobile Vaccination Clinic webpage.

NOTE: Neither the COVID-19 vaccine nor COVID-19 testing is required for any student or staff member of the School District of Palm Beach County. Both services are completely voluntary.
